(Event documentation/article) Reflection on gender roles and (anti-)discrimination – results from the Youth Without Borders workshop, 2023
Name of the publisher: BumF e.V.
Brief description:Gender roles and gender images shape everyday life and living. They influence
how decisions are made and have a strong influence on feelings – whether in the family, at school or among friends. The social expectations placed on a person, the hurdles and opportunities for self-determination are also influenced by gender images. As part of a workshop weekend organized by Jugendliche ohne Grenzen (JoG) in Berlin in February 2023, a diverse group of young people with a history of flight came together to discuss these issues in a more protected setting. Mohammed Jouni, who led the workshop together with Nastaran Tajeri-Foumani, gave insights into the methods, discussion content and challenges of the workshop weekend in a presentation at the spring conference followed by a discussion round. The article summarizes the content of the event.
