About us
This website is dedicated to the rights and needs of refugee girls and young women. It brings together details of support groups, advice and counseling services, publications, campaigns and position statements from across Germany. Our database is designed to help refugee women and girls, and those supporting them – professionally, as volunteers, friends, family or allies – to quickly find relevant services, organizations and initiatives. The database is intended to keep growing, and you can help it to do so by suggesting new entries (via this form).
The content is primarily geared towards the concerns of refugee girls and young women. However, the website also sees itself as a tool to provide information to all people, especially all FLINTA* people (women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people) who have had to leave their country for gender-specific reasons, as well as their supporters, and to promote the formation of alliances.
The website was created as part of the project “Netzwerk geflüchtete Mädchen und junge Frauen”, a project of the Bundesfachverband Minderjährigkeit und Flucht (BuMF) e.V. (Federal Association for Minors and Refugees).
The aim of this project is to create a network between various actors who are active with refugee girls and young women and/or for their rights. These include, for example, people from advice centres, self-organizations, academia and youth welfare services. In support of this goal, we organize a range of on- and off-line opportunities for connection, knowledge-sharing and to boost competence in a range of areas. We also strive to center the knowledge and lived experiences of refugee girls and young women in professional and public debates. The project (01.04.2022-31.03.2024) and the creation of this website were funded by the German Youth Brand Foundation and Aktion Mensch. The Kurt-und-Maria-Dohle-Stiftung supported the project in the 2023 project year with a grant.
The current project phase “Netzwerk geflüchtete Mädchen und junge Frauen – erfolgreich weiter” (01.04.24 – 31.03.25) is funded by Aktion Mensch and co-financed by Förderverein Pro Asyl e.V.
