On October 7, 2022, the GREVIO (Group of experts on action against violence against women and domestic violence) published its first assessment report on the status of implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention) in Germany. In it, GREVIO criticizes a number of implementation gaps, particularly with regard to refugees. The German government must now react.
